The Color Glass Condensate has become an important tool to understand saturation phenomena in high energy collisions involving large nuclei. The following provides a short introduction into the main ideas and theoretical tools used to describe saturation effects at high energies; in particular the nonlinear evolution equations and scaling phenomena in terms of the saturation scale Q(s).
