Noble Joins Party, Inks Contract For Two High-Spec Jackup Rigs

Noble has made a $440 million bet that global market conditions are going to get better as it inked an agreement for two new, harsh weather, high specification jackup drilling rigs.The agreement was signed with Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. The new units are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter 2012 and second quarter of 2013, respectively. Total delivered costs are estimated at $220 million per rig.
