GUSHAN REPORTS DECLINE IN Q2 2009 BIODIESEL OUTPUT

Biodiesel producer Gushan Environmental Energy Ltd. said its revenues in Q2 (Apr/Jun) 2009 decreased by 57.2% on the year to CNY170.9 mln ($1=CNY6.84). The company had an operational loss of CNY113.5 mln in the second quarter, compared to an operational income of CNY1.7 mln in the previous quarter and CNY132.6 mln one year ago. Sales volume fell by 33% on the year and 37% on the quarter to 40,100 tonnes. The average selling price for biodiesel declined by 33% on the year and 1% on the quarter to CNY3,960 per tonne. Gushan said its annual biodiesel production capacity rose by 50,000 tonnes on the year to 340,000.
