On the surface of it the bodyshop industry seems to thrive on complex pay structures. Parts and material discounts, fixed labour rates and insurer rebates have to be factored into the estimate. The aim of staff bonus systems is to increase productivity and motivation, but unintentionally they often have a detrimental effect on the bottom line.
