Pepper growers work out lights themselves

Trials with artificial light on sweet peppers were carried out during the last three years in the Netherlands. Although many questions are still unanswered, the country's sweet pepper commission has cut short the official research programme. Pepper growers, however, are moving forward and are installing numerous large-scale lighting systems and exchanging ideas. Research on mobile and fixed lighting by the Applied Plant Research Institute (PPO) in the Netherlands delivered a lot of valuable information but also left a lot of questions unanswered. Despite this, further research has been stopped this year.
