A campaigning environmen - talist - with the practical experience of running a 42-hectare sheep farm and woodland property at Aberfeldy - is the latest recruit to the new National Committee set up to oversee the work of Forestry Commission Scotland.Simon Pepper, director WWF Scotland since 1985, is an Aberdeen University graduate and has spent his career in countryside management, education and lobbying. Mr Pepper, 55 was a member of the Secretary of State's advisory group on sustainable developmentfrom 1994 to 1999 and vice-convenor of the millennium forest for Scotland trust from 1995 to 2001. The committee which he now joins was created at the time that the FC was being restructured following a review of the delivery of the forestry policies inEngland, Scotland and Wales under devolved government.
