Opportunity knocked for Pete Snyder when he was a teenager living in New York City. That opportunity was the chance to work with some friends installing home stereo systems. He didn't know it at the time, but his ability to wire speakers led to his interest in fabricating thermocouples for measuring the temperature of food. For Snyder, life has been nothing but a series of opportunities that have taken him from installing stereo systems to operating his own consulting firm, the Hospitality Instituteof Technology and Management. Snyder advises others to follow his key to success — "When opportunity comes along for you to do something new and better, raise your hand and say, "Pick me!"
