Effective Railway Operation Key to Movement of Fertiliser and Raw Materials from Port

On western coast of India, Kandla and Mundra Ports are located. Kandla Port is under Ministry of Shipping and Mundra Port is privately developed port by Adani group. Out of total import of fertiliser of the country, approximately 75% imported fertiliser is transported by Railway. More than 45% of imported fertiliser of the country is handled at Western Railway's linked Ports. Gandhidham area's Ports (Mundra and Kandla) are handling approximate 40% to 42% imported fertilisers of total Import of the country.
