CONCETTI AND DSM - A HISTORY OF SUCCESS

In 1988, almost precisely 25 years ago, Concetti supplied a semiautomatic bag-filling machine to DSM Istituto Vitamine at their Segrate plant in the Lombardy region of Italy. Like all good manufacturers Concetti hoped that the first installation wouldbe a prelude to further orders but this was to be the beginning of a rather special story that would last to the present day and take in three continents, ten factories and seventeen lines in all. It would be a demonstration of the benefits of working collaboratively with a customer to constantly develop and improve machines to make them more efficient and easier to operate and maintain.The feed additives industry is among the most difficult for bag filling suppliers. The range can easily run into thousands of different products, mostly fine powders and often very dusty. Some products are medicated so any cross contamination is strictlyforbidden.The bag weights can be almost any value between 5 and 25 kg and the job runs are usually short with often just one or two pallets per order.
