What a difference a year makes. When European Plastics News published its first Data Report on Europe's top injection moulders, covering 2009, sales by all companies were depressed by the worldwide economic downturn. The sales shown in the table over the page are for 2010, when most injection moulders enjoyed a remarkable recovery that has continued into 2011.There is no better example of this recovery than Faurecia, which again tops our table, ranked according to companies' sales by their European injection moulding businesses. The French Tier 1 automotive supplier reported global sales of ?l3.8bn in 2010, which was a massive ?4.5bn more than its sales in 2009. According to our estimates, Faurecia's 2010 European injection moulding sales increased by nearly 20% to ?4.3bn.
