Bonuses, incentives, entitlements are three words synonymous with "must-do" for William Duff when he describes awarding additional compensation to employees, But, "strife, self-doubt and uneasiness" describe his quest to develop an equitable bonus system. Duff, former president of FormPac, a Sandusky, OH, plastic moldings manufacturing firm, led his company through some hard times in the early '90s. Bonuses weren't conceivable in those days, even though employees were working harder than ever. Thisled to disgruntlement and distrust among employees, which disturbed Duff.
