A Review of Weevils of the Subgenus Rimenostolus of the Genus Otiorhynchus and Comments on the Taxonomy of the Subgenus Dibredus (Coleoptera, Curculionidae)

Otiorhynchus serenus and O. eugem are transferred from the subgenus Provadilus to the subgenus Rimenostolus Otiorhynchus faldermanni, O. laeviusculus, O. phreatus, O. nidiformis, and O. rufimanus are transferred from the subgenus Rimenostolus to the subgenus Dibredus O. (Rimenostolus) avancus sp. n. (closely related to O. globicollis) from Daghestan and Chechnya and O. gamzatovi sp. n. (closely related to O. pilifer and O. eugem) from Daghestan and northern Azerbaijan are described. A key to five species of the subgenus Rimenostolus and new data on the morphology and geographic distribution of O. globicollis, O. pilifer, O. eugem, and O. phreatus are given. The new synonymy is established: O. globicollis Hochhuth 1847 (= O. serenus Reitter, 1914, syn. n.). The lectotypes of O. globicollis, O. serenus, O. pilifer, and O. phreatus are designated.
