Trophic groups of scatobiont insects in Gornyi Altai pastures

The analysis of scatobiont insects in Gornyi Altai pastures showed the core of the dung insect community (52.7 percent) to consist of obligate and facultative coprophagous forms: some adult (14 species) and larval (26 species) Diptera, adult and larval Scarabaeidae (65 species), adults of Hydrophylidae (14 species), and some adults (4 species) and larvae (7 species) of Staphylinidae. The predators were represented by larval (22 species) and adult (1 species) Diptera, Hydrophylidae (14 species), adult and larval Histeridae (18 species), and adult (67 species) and larval (51 species) Staphylinidae. Parasitic forms were represented by larval Hymenoptera (17 species) and Staphylinidae (8 species).
