Crude Drops Once Again, Traders Debate Reasons Behind Freefall

Crude oil prices searched for direction Thursday, ending lower after a day of wide price swings into negative and posi- tive territory. Nymex June crude futures fell $1.25 to settle at $74.40 per barrel. In London on ICE Futures, June Brent dropped $1.09 to close at $80.11 one day ahead of expiry. Brent’s premium over Nymex crude now stands at $5.71, the largest since February 2009.
