A green lobby group that comprises members of parliament from the three major UK political parties has called for a major shakeup in green taxes in the UK. In a report released Monday, chairman of the Green Fiscal Commission (GFC) Robert Napier has called on the UK government to radically change taxation and undertake a "substantial green tax shift, such that 15- 20% of the UK's tax revenues come from environmental taxes by 2020." Current green taxes account for roughly 7%.
