Devon Energy is seeking a partner to help it shoulder the cost of developing its holdings in the deepwater Lower Tertiary trend in the US Gulf of Mexico. The move is aimed at reducing Devon's capital spending on costly, long-term projects and freeing up more of its cash flow to develop short-term projects, which offer greater financial flexibility.
