Ambitious Hong Kong-based marine fuels seller and budding upstream player Brightoil Petroleum saw its bunker sales volumes more than double in the year to June 2010 to 3.9 million tons (69,000 barrels per day), accord- ing to its annual results released Tuesday. Brightoil, which recently shook up the Singapore fuel oil market when it hired 20 traders away from UK major BP, has plans to expand, with two large terminals in the works in China and a hefty order book of vessels (IOD Jul.29,p6).
