摘要

The paper presents the analysis of errors in the process of pit excavation and the causes of their occurrence. A method for the assessment of the impact of the pit on the surrounding buildings is submitted. The classification of accidents is given according to their liquidation costs. The importance of engineering and geological surveys on the site and the design process is pointed out; in general terms, a description is given for some possible risks. The experience of the construction of large objects with underground part in complex hydro geological conditions in St. Petersburg (Russia) is considered. The basic causes of accidents are obtained, and recommendations are provided in order to reduce the risks incurred.
