Feasting on fluorspar in Frankfurt

This conference spoke for itself. Fluorspar as a seller's market for the first time most can recall, some familiar mine locations looking to make a comeback, the prospect of a greenfield entry from a country new on the fluorspar map, technical innovation aimed at using material that hitherto would not have found use, and more, provided for continuing discussion late into the evening. Passion was also evident in some quarters and in particular in relation to the prospect of Newfoundland fluorspar getting off the ground to become an international player after the failure of the early 1990s. There's something about fluorspar and its markets that inspires passion in its industry players that makes this event so memorable. And so to Fluorspar '08 - as usual, watch this space for imminent news of this year's venue back in North America.
