Rockwood acquires Holliday Pigments

ROCKWOOD HOLDING INC., a US chemical group, has agreed with Yule Catto & Co. PLC, a UK speciality chemicals producer, to acquire ultramarine and manganese violet pigment producers, Holliday Pigments Ltd, for around 46 million euros (73.1 million dollars). Holliday Pigments, a subsidiary of Yule Catto, is a leading producer of technical ultramarine pigments which manufactures its product from combining kaolin, sulphur and soda ash in its plant in Comines, north-east France. The ultramarine pigment is used in a variety of applications, including plastics, cosmetics, coatings and inks.
