Extent of gap in sugarcane production technology affected by socio-economic status and constraints faced by farmers

Although the productivity of sugarcane has increased with adoption of recommended production technology but the gap between achieved and achievable productivity has not been reduced significantly. If we compare the average yield of Uttar Pradesh withnational average and average yield of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra then we will find a significant gap in yield. The average yield of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu at National level is 781, 1,016 and 674 q/ha, respectively. But the average yield of Uttar Pradesh is 580.45 q/ha which is not commensurate with the level of technological breakthrough.
