Development of and integrated pest management program for Western Australia: IPM scales down pests in WA

Until now, Western Australia (WA) has lacked a long-term pest management program. Little was known of the pest, parasite and predator complex present in WA citrus. In the last 18 months, surveys of the main citrus growing areas in northern WA and monitoring sites south and north of Perth have confirmed that WA has few pests. Moreover, most of these pests are easy to control using beneficial insects or horticultural oils.
