摘要

As a powerful tool for the drug discovery, biopharmaceutical study and environment monitoring, the technology of combination of LC and MS is facing the challenges for bioanalytical method development. That is the so-called matrix effects (ion suppression or ion enhancement effects) problems where the signal response of the analyte compared with the spiked samples and the standard solution will be significantly different, either be enhanced or suppressed. Ion suppression effects occur most frequently in the practical determination for the bioassay. Therefore, if one quantitates the concentration of the analyte of the sample according to the signal, an error conclusion would be drawn. So, it is necessary and important to understand and circumvent the ion suppression effects. We summarized the studies in this field in foreign countries and our laboratory in order to introduce the reasons for the ion suppression effects and the methods to compensate these effects.
