摘要

Darunavir is a second-generation protease inhibitor (Pis), designed specifically to overcome problems with the older agents in this class, such as indinavir, Darunavir received much attention at the time of its release, as it represents an important treatment option for patients with drug-resistant HIV. In present work, a simple, sensitive, accurate and economical Spectrophotometric method has been developed for the estimation of Darunavir ethanolate in bulk drug and its pharmaceutical formulation. An absorption maximum was found to be at 272 nm. The drug follows Beer's law in the concentration range of 4-20 ug/mL with correlation coefficient of 0.999. The percentage recovery of Darunavir ethanolate ranged from 99.8 to 100.9 % in pharmaceutical dosage form. Results of the analysis were validated for accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ and were found to be satisfactory.
