New genus and three new species of mites of the family Arctacaridae (Parasitiformes, Mesostigmata) from North America [Russian]

Three new species belonging to the new genus Proarctacarus are described-P. canadensis sp. n. (the Rocky Mountains-Alberta, Canada), P. johnstoni sp. n. (Rocky Mountains-Idaho, Utah, USA), and P. oregonensis sp. n. (Coastal Ranges-Oregon, USA). The more precise diagnosis of Arctacaridae is given. The most records of Proarctacarus are associated with mountain coniferous forests. The rather regular chaetotactic and sigillotactic patterns pronounced on the large membranous opisthosoma in Proarctacarus permit to hypothesize the presence of 10 opisthosomal segments (without considering the telson) including the pregenital (VII) segment. Its setae (2-3 pairs) insert in the dorsolateral areas on the boundary between the podosoma and the opisthosoma and may be reliably marked by the disposition of the last podosomal setal row (6(th) segment) and the first full opisthosomal row of setae associated with sigillae sg (8(th), genital segment). This is the first record for setae of 7(th), pregenital segment in Mesotigamata. The taxonomical value of the feature "presence/absence of ambulacrum I" and relationship of cohort Arctacarina are briefly discussed.
