BSK import prices bounce back by $20/tonne in China thanks to big buyers

The Chinese bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp market has seen a quick rebound, with prices for most of the grade's imports climbing $20/tonne following drops of $20-50/tonne last month. The uptick has been ascribed to a concerted effort by suppliers and large Chinese paper and board (P&B) mills. Major P&B producers have been sensitive to any change in pulp costs in China, loath to see a decline as that might trigger a tumble in the prices of their paper and board (P&B) products in the domestic market.
