China's Liansheng Paper acquires land in Malaysia; recycled pulp, board mill likely in works

China's Liansheng Paper (Longhai) is in the process of acquiring real estate in Selangor, Malaysia, with an apparent plan to build recycled pulp and board capacity there. Last week its affiliate Liansheng Paper (Malaysia) entered into a conditional purchase agreement with Ideal Quality, a wholly-owned subsidiary of rubber products manufacturer Kossan Rubber Industries, for the acquisition of 390,397 m3 of vacant freehold industrial land in Kuala Langat district, Selangor, for a total cash consideration of Ringgit 147.75 million (S36.36 million).
