276 proposals on deck as fish board meeting season looms

Cook Inlet fish wars: The Alaska Board of Fisheries will consider 276 proposals during a series of meetings this winter.Headlining the action is the Upper Cook Inlet finfish meeting scheduled for Feb. 7-20 in Anchorage. Upper Cook Inlet is the most i quarrelsome of fishing regions in Alaska, with sport, commercial, i and other interests continually battling one another over salmon. iOther board meetings will focus on Lower Cook Inlet finfish (Dec. 10-13 in Seward), Kodiak finfish (Jan. 11-14 in Kodiak), and 1 statewide king and Tanner crab and supplement issues (March 7-11 i in Anchorage).
