摘要

The general intention of this work is to study the possibilities of producing potassium salts from brine solutions through alternative processes.Mathematical model is developed describing the kinetics of the potassium sulfate precipitation reaction from potassium chloride using gypsum in ammmoniacal solution.Bench scale reactor is designed for the determination of optimum operating conditions.Conversion of 80%of chloride salt to sulfate is reached at 5 deg C,36%ammonia concentration,two hours reaction time and 400 rpm mixing rate in a closed reactor.The total product cost/ton is estimated to be less than 200
