Ada Negri was an attentive visitor and refined literary interpreter of Pavia, the city that can be proud of having frequently hosted her. She described it through a significant corpus of Elzevirs, now gathered in the collections Di giorno in giorno, Erba sul sagrato e Oltre. Descriptions, glimpses, impressions, portraits: scattered pages of an homage to Pavia, beloved 'refuge' that was synonym, for the writer, of blessed solitude, concentration and peace.
