摘要

Buildings are one of the major human inventions on the earth that consume a huge amount of energy to sustain their operation. Among the energy used, more than 40% is contribute to ventilate the indoor air. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to setup a conceptual model framework to compare the ventilation operation costs for both conventional non-air-conditioned and the new green office buildings in order to identify the cost-effectiveness of natural ventilation operations in these buildings. Through the integrations of passive building designs, energy usage, and life cycle operational costs of ventilation using Multiple Regression Analysis, a final indicator will then be identified to show the possibility to enhance quality natural ventilation performance with lower operation costs through optimum combination of passive designs strategies in these buildings.
