Iraq's lower budget spending to affect steel sector

The government of Iraq is trying to support the national economy by reducing non-oil spending in its 2016 budget amid pressure from lower-than-expected oil prices and taking on several billion dollars in international debt by attracting funds from the International Monitory Fund (IMF). Nevertheless, according to market participants, the country is unlikely to overcome its financing problems despite such a significant decrease of expenditures.
