The aim of Neuromodulation is the elimination of dysfunction or chronic discomfort related to neurological disorders by modulating the neural activity in specific parts of the central nervous system (Holsheimer, Neuromodulation 1(2) (1998) 57–61). Therefore, it is the treatable method for many symptom of various disease.Neuromodulation for movement disorder are DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation), ITB (Intrathecal Baclofen) and SCS (Spinal Cord Stimulation) commonly. Each of them improves not only motor dysfunction but also complicated symptoms. This accessory effects leads to further improvement of motor function.I will talk about following three cases in this symposium Improvement effect of DBS on sleep disorder of Parkinson’s disease SCS for intractable pain improves deep sensation, lower limb blood flow and mood disorder.Pain relief effect of ITB for CRPS.Recently, many pain physician have been discussing about central dysfunctional pain like CRPS. Chronic migraine is another well-known intractable disease attributable to the same mechanism with prevalence of 1.4–2.2% in Japan. Neuromodulation can possibly improve the activity of daily life of such patients. I will refer to Neuromodulation for headaches, mainly ONS (Occipital Nerve Stimulation).
