A study was conducted to develop a feature exaggeration system for scale performance on the piano by modifying the performance parameters of the original performance. The features of performance was exaggerated by controlling feature parameters proposed in earlier methods, while the difference between the global curve and the performance was controlled by modifying the performance parameters. A system was proposed that synthesized a performance, which varied from suppressed to exaggerated by manipulating a slider bar on a screen. The proposed system was expected to support practice on the piano for a beginner or for experts, as players were able to easily recognize their own style of playing and weak points. A simulated performance was generated by controlling 12 parameters that distinguished three basic features, such as onset time, velocity, and duration.
