Compacks to cope with demand

In the UK,bpi Consumer VMB has installed two Proslit Compack 2 slitter rewinder to keep pace with constantly growing demand.Production director Tony Farquharson explains:"The first machine,delivered in June,was modified to meet our requirements.After the installation,we were so pleased that we placed an order for the second Compack 2,which was delivered in October.They complement our other Proslit machines,a Duo 1 delivered in 2005 and Eikon double turret machines which were delivered in 2003 and are the backbone of our slitting department,used for our longer run work.Proslit had some very innovative ideas-a linear tracking lay-on roll system and automatic reel off-loading."
