Eni expands exploration footprint off UAE in Middle East push

London-Italy’s Eni has picked up more exploration acreage off the United Arab Emirates in the shallow waters of the Persian Gulf, following up on pledges to further expand its upstream footprint in the Middle East. The Rome-based oil major said Thursday it signed an exploration and production sharing agreement covering Block A off the UAE’s northeastern Ras Al Khaimah Emirate.
