Japanese steelmakers have notbeen impacted by the global shortageof ferrovanadium as they rely on localsupplies, while importers have beenprotected by contracts, mill sources saidFriday.Sources at two integrated steelmakers,which consume 20-100 mt/month offerrovanadium each for rebars, auto partsand other applications, said that supply fromtheir local suppliers — Taiyo Koko and JFEMaterials — had been sufficient and they didnot need to import.
