Singapore—Taiwan’s domestic heavy melting scrap saw an uptick in prices this week after a long-running bearish trend during the third quarter of the year, Taiwanese market sources said. Feng Hsin Iron and Steel hiked its domestic scrap buying price this week to T$7,700/mt ($252/mt) for HMS I/II 80:20 delivered to its Taichung mill, up T$200/mt from a week ago, a company source said Monday.
