India’s Sail to raise long steel output to capacity at loss-making IISCO plant

Steel Authority of India (Sail) intends to maximise the output of longproducts at its loss-making IISCO steel plant from the start of nextyear, a company spokesman has told Metal Bulletin.Sail hopes to produce material at a rate that will result in 850,000tpy of sections, 900,000 tpy of bars and 550,000 tpy of wire rod at theplant in West Bengal, eastern India, from the first day of 2018, thespokesman said on Tuesday August 29.
