Major SE Asia mills hurt by price collapse in 2015

Most major steelmakers in SE Asia found themselves on the verge of bankruptcy in 2015 due to the falling prices amida flood of Chinese steel imports, as well as relatively high cost of production in the region. A lot of small mills decidedto stop steel melting operations. Larger steelmakers, for whom it is more problematic to close production, were facedwith a significant growth of losses and were seeking support from the government and foreign investors.
