The future of paid family leave in the USA

At the White House Summit on Working Families last week, President Barack Obama called for a change in US policies to guarantee a family-friendly environment in the American workplace. Among issues such as the minimum wage and more flexible work schedules, Obama discussed paid family leave for all employees, emphasising the lack of paid maternity leave for mothers. Although he did not suggest any concrete changes to legislation, the President wrote in a Huffington Post article that as a grandson, son, and husband of working mothers, "I take this personally."
