Pertamina eyes deal with Total on Mahakam block

Jakarta-Indonesia’s Pertamina is interested in cooperating with France’s Total, current operator of the large Mahakam gas block, especially if it gives the state-owned company an opportunity to tie up with the French major in overseas proj- ects, a senior company official said Thursday. The company expects to submit its pro- posal on the development of Mahakam to the government within three months, Pertamina’s acting president director Muhamad Husen told Platts, adding that it was still assess- ing Mahakam’s data room and studying the block’s technical and operations system.
