Pakistan LNG project clears all hurdles

Karachi—Elengy Terminal Pakistan Ltd. has received final approval—from Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority—to build the country’s first LNG import facility to be located at Port Qasim, Karachi. The terminal will be ready to handle LNG imports by the end of March next year, ETPL CEO Imran ul Haque said Wednesday. “In the first year, we will handle around 200,000 Mcf/day of the commodity, while in the second year of running it could handle around 400,000 Mcf/day,” Haque told Platts in an interview.
