Inpex’s crude sales fall 8% on year; gas sales up 4%

Sydney—Japan’s largest upstream company Inpex Friday posted a lower sales volume for crude oil, but higher natural gas sales for the first nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014. Inpex’s sales of crude oil for the April- December period fell by 4.999 million barrels, or 7.6%, year on year to 60.389 million barrels, while sales of natural gas climbed by 8.482 Bcf, or 3.6%, to 241.776 Bcf, the company said in a statement. Inpex’s overseas gas sales rose by 7.79 Bcf, or 4.2%, to 195.363 Bcf, and domestic sales rose by 19 million cubic meters, or 1.5%, to 1.244 Bcm (46.414 Bcf).
