Idemitsu to enhance Hokkaido’s oil supply infrastructure

Tokyo—Japanese refiner Idemitsu Kosan plans to enhance the oil products supply infrastructure at its 140,000 b/d Hokkaido refinery in northern Japan by the end of February 2014 as it prepares to be the sole refiner in the region. Idemitsu intends to upgrade Hokkaido’s truck and waterborne shipment facilities for middle distillates, and its storage facilities at cost of Yen 4 billion ($41 million)—part of which will be funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, a company official said Tuesday.
