Hess to decide on Equus liquefaction in 2012

Sydney-US-based Hess Corporation is aiming to select one of three onshore liq- uefaction facilities in Western Australia to process gas from its Equus offshore project during 2012. Hess has ruled out using floating LNG technology to develop the recent discoveries in its wholly owned WA-390-P permit, and is now negotiating to liquefy the gas through the existing Woodside Petroleum-operated North West Shelf LNG plant; Woodside's upcoming Pluto project; or Chevron's Wheatstone hub, currently in the early stages of development.
