Tehran—International oil sanctions on Iran will have negative consequences for consuming countries because of the potential for severe oil price volatility and disturbance in global supply patterns, Mohammad Ali Khatibi, international affairs director at the National Iranian Oil Company, warned July 30. Quoted by oil ministry news service Shana, Khatibi said the imposition of oil sanctions on such a major producer was bad for consumers both in the short and long term.
