Total talks up Norvarg gas discovery in Barents Sea

London—Total’s recent Norvarg discovery inthe Barents Sea could hold up to 50 billioncubic meters of recoverable natural gas, mak-ing it the second major find in Norway’s Arcticwaters this year. Preliminary estimates indicate the sizeof discovery at between 10 billion and 50billion cubic meters of recoverable gas, Totaland its block partners said August 8. Thereserve estimate comes after Total com-pleted and tested exploration well 7225/3-1following an initial discovery announced inmid-June.
