Mexico's Supreme Court begins hearing contract case

Mexico City-Mexico's Supreme Court Novem- ber 30 began hearing a case in which legisla- tors are challenging the constitutionality of upstream contracts with cash incentives to be offered by state oil company Pemex. The contracts, regarded as the most sig- nificant relaxation of the state's oil monopoly ever proposed by Pemex, form part of the energy reform approved by the Mexican Con- gress two years ago.
