Ecuador said to pay Noble $80 million for gas assets

Quito-Ecuador will pay US-based Noble Energy $80 million in cash for its Gulf of Guayaquil natural gas production and the Machala Power thermoelectric plant sup- plied with the gas, a high-ranking source from the Ecuadorean oil ministry said December 11. An official announcement will be made December 14, the source said on the side- lines of an OPEC ministerial meeting in Quito.
